Hi,

I'm rather new to PC gaming and have a quick question about motherboards. How important are they for good gaming performance? I currently have an ASUS Maximus XI Hero (WiFi) but having seen some negative points about it I am wondering if I made a mistake in getting it. I could upgrade it to something on the higher end of the spectrum like the Maximus XI Code or the Z390 Aorus Ultra, both of which seem to get frequently recommended on tech articles. Would upgrading to either of these boards net me any noticeable improvements in gaming, or would it be wiser to save money and upgrade it much later down the road in a few years?

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply!

Sorry, I should have mentioned overclocking. I have my CPU overclocked to 4.8Ghz. I tried 5.1 but it wasn't all that stable so I pulled it back. What is the performance difference between them when it comes to overclocking?
