i'm making a build, mainly just to be a fast, overclockable workstation with occasional gaming. How strong is this card? Is there any noticeable performance differences between this card and more expensive ones just when using the computer, or are the differences only really noticeable in super HD, 1080p, full action games?
Thanks

you will indeed only see the diference in games, the 750ti is an entry level card that will run most games at 1080p at medium setings or so...from there the performances in games increase as well as the price, the 770 being about twice as fast and the 780 being about 3 times as fast as a 750ti

The EVGA GTX 750Ti Superclocked will run a ton of games like Skyrim at 1080p ultra settings an still have room for a few mods. It's also been noted that this GPU will run Titanfall better than the Xbox One. Now when it comes to frames per second I can see from having this card myself you won't be seeing much games above the 60FPS if you plan on using High or Ultra settings. Though it does stay above 30FPS with the best settings on most games running 1080p. Also, consider the processor you have. I only have an APU A-10 6700 3.7ghz Quad-Core. It's not great but it gets the job done for the casual gamer. With all that being said it's a very nice and versatile GPU being it's small in size an fast enough to run the next-gen games at decent settings with decent FPS.

Wildly untrue. "Enthusiasts" will always tell you to spend more, but truly, the 750ti SC is a great card that plays every game I've thrown at it on Ultra settings at 1080p in ~60 FPS on a single monitor (on Far Cry 3, I had to turn AA to 8x as opposed to 16x, it runs 30FPS on 16x, but I'd rather have higher FPS with minimally downgraded AA) and I'm running an AMD Athlon x4 740, which is a relatively low power quad core. At $150, there is nothing better, and you will not increase your performance much by buying a card that costs twice as much, trust me.

Too much spec-fapping on Tom's Hardware.

I just did this last night. Might get better results if I put it in my i7 but i'm a bit too lazy to changeover graphics cards :) .

its a good card for the price i myself just got one haven't had the time to install it yet but it has like 160 5 star reviews on amazon and the performance is right in between an r7 260x and r7 265 it just depend on the specs of your pc but ive seen it run 30 fps on bf4 and also on arma 3 but im probaly going to run mine on high setting anyways it reliable and has good reviews so if you want a good performing card for the price get it

Have had this card for quite some time and I've put many hours into bf4 bfhardline skyrim(55mods) and much more all playing at 1080p ultra 60fps. Best 150 I've spent. If your looking for any res higher than 1080p then upgrade to something else if your looking to have 2 or more monitors then upgrade to something else but of you simply want 1080p 60fps ultra settings then there should be no reason to spend more in less your an "enthusiast" who spends 500 to just play on one monitor at 1080p, 350 towards a bottleneck or 350 towards games is the way I see it

Check out passmark.. They have a standardized way to compare card-to-card. Personally I don't think you would ever feel much of difference unless you were running a high end game with graphics turned up. I would save my money, unless I really need it for something that specifically has higher system requirements (labeled on the box).
