How many fans for my NasBox?

OK. My brother built a a System using FreeNas
Core2Duo 2.2Ghz(STOCK!!!)
2GB RAM
2X 320GB HDDs

I feel that a 120mm 2000RPM fan by the HDDs and a 120mm Silent Fan is MORE than enough. He is not willing to agree and wants 2X120mm 2000RPM fans and a 120mm silent fan. And also there should be NO side fan as there is no Video Card and it will disrupt the airflow. Am I right?Please help in convincing him to not throw away money.

Why would you need 1/2 dozen fans for a computer that does very little except serv files? The amount of fans has to do with cooling and CPU usage...yeah it would make sense for a gaming PC to have that many, but a NAS is overkill (most have 1 fan if any).
