So i have a athlon x4 760k and a gtx 550 ti, about to upgrade to 1050 in january, and was wondering how w should i get? Some said 550w is the way to go.

550w gives good headroom for the future, that setup would work on a high quality 450w. Just make sure you get a good quality psu, wattage alone is meaningless.

look for the 12V wattage on the lable of the power supply or specs , you need at least 275 watts on 12V , dont look at the total watts , look at the 12V watts
