How much difference will 8mb l3 cache make against 2mb l3 cache?

just wandering how much difference this will make! Is there a noticeable difference in performance? 8mb vs 2mb l3 cache.

What specific CPUs are you looking at?

Only thing that comes to my mind as having 2mb L3 cache is a Phenom X4, and the only thing with 8mb L3 cache is an I7, huge world of difference in terms of performance.

Unless you've mistaken Phenom II X4 to have 8mb L3 cache, but it actually has 2mb L2 cache and 6mb L3 cache for a total of 8mb cache. Than its not much faster than Phenom unless you clock it higher.
