How much ram do need on Toshiba Satellite, windows 7. laptop

I was told to upgrade my ram,
I have a Toshiba Satellite, windows 7. laptop
I'm Techno phobic so what or how do I do this ? please
it will be a first for me

8gb will be good, and you just unscrew the bottom of your laptop

Try to use the benefits of dual-channel. If you already have a 2gb memory (for example) but another 2gb with the exact same specs. Im must be the same type (DDR2 or DDR3) and it must have the same frequency (533mhz, 667mhz etc). A total of 4gb (2x2) would be enough, unless your laptop is a high-end machine.
