How much space required for windows 7?

I am thinking of getting a solid state drive to import windows 7 onto and just use it for that and nothing else so theoretically my computer will start quicker but how much space minimum do you guys think should be best for this? like I Don't want to waste coin on space I'm not going to use.

A fresh Windows 7 install including all Service Packs and updates takes 19-20GB.

Windows 7 32 bit takes a minimum of 16Gig and Windows 7 64 bit takes a minimum of 20 Gig. I wouldn't buy a small SSD as a small SSD is slower and is inconvenient to use as you will be everlastingly moving files about to free up space. I would suggest that you buy a 120 Gig SSD with a large hard drive as data storage as a smaller SSD is not that much cheaper and a larger SSD not that much faster.

I've tried in a virtual machine with Windows 7 32-bit (SP1, I think), I had an 8GB virtual disk and it wouldn't install. I increased it to 10, and it worked but barely had any space left on the drive. The error message that I got when I had an 8GB virtual disk was something like "Windows needs 9.(a bunch of numbers) to install". So you only need about 15, but I'd go with large disks, like 150, or 250, or 500, or even 1000 GB, which is a terabyte. If you have 4 250GB disks, that's equal to 1 1TB (1 terabyte) drive.

My computer has one 179GB disk and then a 150GB disk which barely has anything on it. One of my other computers has a 500GB drive and I'm not sure it has another one. If it does it's an 150 or 250 GB.

UPDATE 9/13/14 the other computers has a (probably 7200 rpm) traditional spinning hard drive of 500 GB, and then there's an 87 GB ssd which has nothing on it. everything's on the 7200 drive.
