Hey everyone, would like some help. Here's da details

Budget:
$1,250 ± minor deviation if necessary.

Operating System or Peripherals needed?

  • Monitor: A 2K monitor is needed if the build supports 2K gaming. Looking for a budget-friendly option with at least 144Hz refresh rate.
  • Keyboard: Budget of up to $75. Currently using Razer Cynosa Chroma and looking for an upgrade.
  • Mouse: Currently using Logitech MX518, happy with it but looking for an upgrade with a similar shape.
Where you are located:
middle east (not near microcenter)

Any other personal preferences or requirements?

  • Usage: Heavy gaming and workstation for virtual machines (VMs). Needs to support dual monitors smoothly.
  • Storage: 2TB NVMe SSD.
  • GPU: Must have more than 10GB VRAM for future-proofing.
  • Cooling/Noise: Very sensitive to noise. Prioritize a quiet build with high-quality fans (e.g., Noctua).
  • Connectivity: Prefer a wired internet connection but would like Bluetooth on the motherboard.
  • Upgradability: Looking for a system that will last several years (current system lasted since 2015).
  • No Overclocking: Not planned for now but open to learning about it later.
  • No Optical Drive Needed: Not required.
Sidenotes:

  • Current system: i5 6600 + GTX 1660Ti from 2015.
  • Plan to purchase the PC today.
  • Noise reduction is critical, with experience modifying GPU cooling for silence.

That's a tall order on your budget, having best of both worlds, where lies your main focus?
Gaming performance or workstation related tasks?
Gaming mostly. I'm only just getting into cybersecurity and I doubt I'll use it for work purposes at home for the first year but it might be relevant later on.. but then I might not be so budget-limited..

I've also considered an AMD CPU for cost-performance related reasons but the thing is the good ones (7800x3d) are 500USD, I'm looking for a 250usd TOPS one.. I can also give up on NVME and do normal SSD but whatever you suggest.. I had an I56600 with a 660. Upgraded to 1660 TI, got bottlenecked, used it till now.
Anything will be a huge boost for me, there's games I simply cannot play.

The 2k Monitor I wrote is not included in the budget obviously.. the said budget is only for the PC.

Thanks!

This would be 1440p capable. I don't recommend a 6 core chip for what you are looking to accomplish, so went with the cheapest AM5 8 core.

Thanks bro, appreciate you.
AMD in this case more preferred than Intel/Geforce?

DDR5 is the gold standard nowadays for RAM?

Would you define the GPU to be rather quiet?

@logainofhades

AM5 gives you an upgrade path, where as Intel is uncertain at this point. DDR5 is standard for current gen AMD and Intel. AMD gpu's offer a better price/performance vs Nvidia, for non RT gaming. I would not expect a triple fan 7700xt to be loud.

You do not get an upgrade path with the 5700x3d, just as an FYI. Gaming wise it's basically on par with an R5 7600. 12700k may be another option for you if you are not worried with upgrade path. You can still use DDR4 with it, provided you get a ddr4 capable motherboard.

That's right, I've done intense research throughout the whole day,
What do you think about the 7600X/7700? I can afford it,
The intel ones I've basically understood they're reaching EOL thus upgradability is out of question.. Given that I'm not planning an upgrade but my budget might flactuate in the future so I could sell and invest in something better I think the 7600X/7700 is the better option here?
Sorry for nagging

I personally wouldn't go below a 7700.
Thanks. Finally. My brain is about to explode from this anaylsis paralysis. (I had zero knowledge regarding Ryzen and AMD, was only an Intel nerd)
I'll take a 7700. Pair it with a 4070 and hope for the best.
The rest I don't care about that much.. I'll find a DDR5 32GB Ram, an average motherboard, reliable PSU..

With Nvida and AMD set to release new stuff, you might want to hold off on GPU. Hardware unboxed has a B650 motherboard guide you might want to look at, to make sure you don't get a junk motherboard. DDR5 should be 6000 CL30, and preferably one with AMD Expo timings.
