Hey guys! I need your help. I live in an area where power outage is common and I'm fearing that these sudden outages might kill my PC in the near future. I recently got scammed by a "tech expert" from a local PC store that having 800 watts of UPS is enough to give my PC some time to shut down. Trusting the technician himself, decided to purchase the UPS and suddenly had my regrets. It cannot even power my pc for more than 40-60 seconds. With these components, what do you think should be enough as a UPS for my setup? Your suggestions would be much appreciated

If your system can't hibernate in 40 sec you got a much more serious problem...
The UPS should have some software that you have to install in windows that kicks in and shuts down the system, you are not supposed to run the system at full power on the UPS.

Also the power outages don't kill the system it's the power coming back with a very high spike that is killing components, so a good power surge protector will protect your system.

UPS has two values
watts which refers to power draw of your devices
and VA which refers to battery capacity, this VA value will tell you how long your devices can run before battery drains

800watt ups is ok, he did tell you its enough to safely shutdown your PC, which is correct, you just need more VA on your unit, some UPS units can add additional battery packs
