How net card hardware can be installed in window vista

what are the steps to install a new netcard in window vista and which config. network works and how can i know the netcard no.

Shut down the pc, open side cover install the card, start the pc, Vista will more then likely detect the new card and install the drivers for you.
The card itself should have a make and model number on it.
An example is "NETGEAR FA311", "Realtek RTL8139"
