How Powerful is the Xbox 360?

My friends are really bugging me, whenever I see them they're always telling me that their precious Xbox has much better graphics than my PC. I don't think that's true but really how powerful is the Xbox 360? I'd just like to know so I can be sure that my GPU upgrade made my PC better than the Xbox 360 D:
I have:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 @2.5GHz
MSI Twin Frozr II GTX560 Ti OC
4GB of DDR2 RAM
I think those are the components that help with graphics and stuff, but if I'm missing something tell me. Thanks.

That's true... Is the CPU fine? I mean I know I have to upgrade it soon but compared to the Xbox?

the xbox has a tri core 3.2 at 1033mhz per core each core with 2 threads.

thats about as powerful as a athlon x3 at 2 ghz probably.

The gpu probably as poweful as a 1900xt

so the tech in a 360 is like 7 years old decent gaming computer.

The CPU is a quad core which is good but could do with an overclock to about 3GHz. You can not directly compare a PC to a Xbox but CPU and GPU wise you have the win! Lets see them try to do some kind of rendering or encoding on a Xbox!

As far as game performance goes, you are way ahead of the XBox 360. The 360 will run all its games at around 1280x720 on the equivalent of low or medium settings and get 30FPS. Your 560Ti can run just about all of the console ports at maximum settings at a much higher resolution of 1920x1080, and get a much higher framerate, more than 60FPS on most titles with Vsync off. Only horribly optimized titles like GTA IV, and the extremely demanding titles like Crysis or Metro 2033 are going to give you any trouble.

Your CPU's single threaded performance would be a bit slow due to the low clockspeed, but most games these days are getting coded to use four cores, so it still is okay as a gaming CPU. You may want to consider overclocking if you do run into performance issues with games that are not optimized to use all four cores.
