Hi folks,

I'm looking for a way to change the Physical Address (MAC Address) of my AP (TP-LINK Router).
I think it is hardcoded because there is no option to change it in the control panel, but still there have to be a solution for this.

Thanks in advance peeps.

You generally can't especially on the wireless mac. The router could easily have 4 different mac addresses depends on the vendor. You could have one each on the wireless radios and one on the wan and another on the lan. Some make them all the same.

If you look at this on a PC the driver for the device must allow this feature....and then stupid microsoft needs to not disable it. On a router you pretty much only have the screens the manufacture gives you and if the option is not there it can't be done.

If your router can load third party firmware you might be able to change these. It is not in the menus you will have to use the underling unix commands to change it. And even after all this it may still not be possible on the wireless radios if the manufacture of the chips does not provide a unix driver that has the option to change the mac address.

If you want to change the WAN MAC address:

On the TL-WR1043ND, the MAC address can be changed under Network > MAC Clone. It allows you to enter your own address.

Other TP-Links should have a similar menu if the option is available. Check your owner's manual.

I know that option, but that won't change the Physical Address.
Thanks for your answer tho.

Still looking for a solution...
