How to check computer RAM speed?

I am wondering if my 1666 MHz RAM is indeed running at 1666 MHz and not lower. Is there a web app or other app that you recommend to check this?

It'll either be 1066 or 1600. Not 1666.

HWInfo will tell you what it's running at.

Get the Free utility CPU-Z - i can provide lots of good info - for your DRAM look in the memory tab it will give the true freq, if running at 1600 will show 800 since this is DDR (DOUBLE data rate)...if it shows 667 (1333) you will have to enable XMP in the BIOS if Intel and select profile 1, If AMD it may use XMP, DOCP or EOCP

Pl use CPU-Z software. Once this software is loaded. Click at SPD tab under which you can check the speed of the RAM. Make sure to multiply the value of speed by 2 to get the effective speed as ram is double data rate.

Yes, that is correct. Required info will be shown in Memory tab not in SPD tab. Thanks for correcting me.
