Hi,

I'm changing the cooler of my cpu. I was wondering what I should use. I already have 70% alcohol (no I don't drink that), but I don't know what kind of materia I have to use to remove the thermal paste. Some use cofee filter o0 with an other product (Ge goo... ?! )! I was thinking at old clothes... I'm going to a computer shop soon to buy an extension cable for my CPU and I am wondering if they sell kits to clean a cpu.

Artic Cooling do sell TIM remover kits (usually 2 bottles) fairly cheaply. The 70% alcohol is probably not pure enough to be honest - most suggest rubbing alcohol aroubnd 90+% but I know from experience it can be hard to get hold of. Amazon do sell the Artic cooling kits.... think i paid £6.00 last time around

Can't find any kits... I think I'll try to get some 90% alcohol =\
Funny thing: I call a "pro OCerz" computer store the guy ask me why the hell I need a "kit" to clean my CPU. I say: Well... I need to remove the thermal paste. He's like: ohhhh no trouble! you can remove it without problem!
Heh...

Awww... I can't find isopropyl 90+% cheap quality. I can buy 94%, but it's like 30$ 500ml and you use that to make strong alcohol. I heard that you could use the acetone to clean your CPU. Is it as good as the propyl?
