how to Connect my desktop to wireless router without Ethernet cable

as the title says , I got a desktop and actually I got an average monitor playing on it while I have a big TV somewhere else in the house which I'm going to connect my desktop to, but I cannot connect an Ethernet cable to it, so I was wondering if there's any sort of device that I can put to make my desktop connects to my adaptor without using Ethernet cable?

If you have a wireless router then you need a wireless adapter for the PC, you can get either a PCi E card one, or one that plugs into a USB port. They can be had, in various levels of features, for anywhere from 10 USD and up. Here's a variety of them on Newegg-

Just check your router to make sure you get the same (or newer) wi-fi standard (802.11a/b/g/n).

Adapter = device that connects to your computer (built into most laptops) to your router via wireless

Router = devices that connects you to your internet provider and 'routes' the connection. Most nowadays can be connected to via wire or wireless.

You just need to get a wireless adapter. Tell us where you live and we can suggest specific device via online retailer. Also tell us what your router is.

It's a USB one, so you don't have to break open you computer and install a card (unless your computer has no USB ports available, then you will need a PCi-E card adapter).

Edit: Or the one g90814 suggests, the only real difference is the bandwidth (150mbps vs. 300).

Yes, you plug the adapter into the computer and it uses a wireless signal to talk to the wireless router, no additional cables required.

You plug it into your computer, install drivers (if needed) then you can connect to your router like any other wireless device.

You're welcome. There were some cheaper options but they would not have very good connection if you were any distance from the router.
