How to connect to pc in windows 7 using lan cable

You should be able to connect them w/ a standard network cable. They will even self-configure their respective TCP/IP configurations if they're set to use DHCP (which is the default). Once connected, you can identify what IP address each machine assigned itself by issue the "ipconfig" (no quotes) command from a DOS prompt. Then use those IP addresses for communications. Referencing by Windows computer names may also work, but tends to be less reliable.
