So, using the stock cooler with the 9950 black edition phenom ive never dared to try to OC it running at 50c idle. However, I wanna push 3.2 ghz on it, and if noise isnt much of a problem... would a water cooler or real good heatsink be the best option?

I have a full atx case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133021

A ton of fans, and its designed for all of thermaltakes water cooling systems if I go that route.

Also, my mobo is strange. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131163

And I have ocz reaper ram, which makes a good heatsink an issue if it doesnt fit.

Lol, looking at it again, that layout is pretty bad. The contact freezer, like most other high performing coolers, is thin but wide. It'll definitely fit if you aim it to blow up or down, but might not if you aim it towards the back.

actually it's fat. it has more fin area behind the fan than the true or xigmatek s1283. on an am2 board, it can only face front or back with a vertical mobo. it's got a fat fan too. i had to move my ram to the A-B2 slots.

it needs about 4cm side clearance. i can't see that copper heatpipe height, but if it's under 4cm it should be ok. front and back look good.

I should mention that my armor 8000 is designed with the psu fan facing the pane side of the case, not the mobo, and it has a fan adjacent to it, so I can probably point a good heatsink up (also has a mesh top and 120mm top fan) and not loose any real cooling performance. Im just wondering if the contact freezer would fit anywhere because of its wide base heatpipes. The heatpipes are fairly tall, I can guarantee any wide heatsink would fit them, its just that in terms of wide heatsinks you get the thermaltake v1, v14... not many more besides those, and those are loud and inefficient.

Maybe watercooling...
