Hello, my CPU throttles to 1.4 Ghz from the stock 4.0 Ghz while playing a game, I have deactivated every "power save" option in my BIOS (CE6, Cool and Quiet, Turbo Core) and using de AMD overrider I've disabled Turbo Core which (if i'm correct) also disables AMP. The throttling stopped in most games (before the changes it was almost each minute) but after 15-20 min of gameplay it throttled again, so I used MSI Afterburner and HWinfo64 to check my core temps and frequencies and exactly at 68ºC it throttles , so I want to know if there is a way to disable thermal throttling because my BIOS doesn't have an option for that. I've researched and most people says that ~70ºC for FX-8350 is normal on heavy load (80%+ across all cores). I've just got a new cooler (Cooler Master Hyper TX3) and added 1 intake fan and 1 exhaust fan so i don't think it will overheat (I don't do overclock) past 70ºC. I want to exhaust my options before changin the motherboard. Here are my specs:

-Motherboard: ASUS M5A 78L-M LX PLUS
-Proccesor: AMD FX 8350 4.0ghz 8 core
-Ram: Corsair CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10 8GB 1600mhz DDR3
-HDD 1: Seagate 500GB SATA (3Gps) 7200 RPM (System disk)
- HDD 2: 2TB Toshiba SATA (3Gps) 7200 RPM (Games)
- PSU: Cooler Master Silent pro m2 720 80 plus bronze
- GPU Gigabyte GTX 970 Gaming G1
- Case: Corsair Graphite Series 230T Black
- CPU Cooling: Cooler Master Hyper TX3

Thanks in advance!

You can check for stability at that voltage by running Prime95. I would really think about getting either a decent 970 board or better yet a good 990FX board with 8+2 phase power.
Thermal throttling is how components save themselves from overheating. Disable it in some way, and your PC will smoke, choke, and croak. If you've added enough cooling, your system will not throttle. It may be the VRMs on your ancient-tech mobo that are throttling; you can get CMOS heatsinks that may help.

Thanks for the answer;
What motherboard (best for the price) do you recommend for a FX 8350 stock clocks paired with a GTX970? So 68ºC under heavy load is too much heat? you think if I disable someway the thermal throttling my temps would go far beyond 68ª?

Do you think 68ªC limit (it throttles there) is overheating for a FX 8350 stock? because the TJ max (CoreTemp) is 83ºC
Thanks!

The question is, is 68º C at 80%+ load in a FX 8350 too hot?????

I've managed to lower my temps by reducing VCore with AMD Overrider, it was 1.325 V at stock 4.0 Ghz I just reduced that to 1.225 V same clock, I played 64 player BF4 with ultra preset for about half and hour and max temp was 61ºC so it didn't throttle, it is safe to keep that voltage? is there anyway to test the stability or something? thanks!
