How to eliminate very old msgs in searches

I use Tom's sites all the time and in doing searches I would like to eliminate posts that are quite old. Is there a way to eliminate the old postings? Example, it's almost 2013 and I don't think the posts related to 2005 and earlier really have much use for the topics I search for. How can I see postings from say, 2010 to current?

Well you could browse through the pages of a topic, its time consuming but it will get you what you want or when you search something, near the top it says 'sort: by date / by relevance', click on by date.
