I thought you were supposed to just shake it like an etch-a-sketch?

?, if you cant even get your computer to work after a failed driver install, i sugest you seek medical attention

start, right click my computer then manage, device manager, then right click on the offending component, uninstall

was that so hard, or get someone else to do it

Man I'm having the worst time trying to install Adobe Reader X. It's frickin impossible... stupid windows being all stupid and stuff...

Go to ninite.com, check adobe reader, get installer, quietly weep at how simple it was.
Happens all the time at the school districts I work in, reader wont install but ninite almost always works

"In reading the comments it's pretty obvious you Linux people can't take a joke...sheesh."

Granted, but it's also true that Linux has been the target of massive amounts of FUD and misinformation for years. People tend to get touchy when constantly prodded.

Odd I find when my girlfriend gets touchy a little prodding goes a long way 😉

lol windows isn't all that bad as long as you maintain self controlled backup on an external hard drive so if you kill it you can reload without worries and be backup and running in a few hours.

easier than the above, and applies to all systems-

step 1. ask your acquaintance who knows about computers to fix it.

[citation][nom]dekyos[/nom]Wow, apparently this guy doesn't know anything about Linux and likes to not-so-quietly weep about it.I know a lot of linux geeks, and we all bathe regularly, in fact probably more than those hipster Macbois dude. Linux is probably the easiest OS to deal with once you untrain all your bad Windoze and Mac habits. Migrating a Linux installation to new hardware is as easy as copying all the files, and reinstalling your boot loader....
(At this point my eyes glazed over and I wondered over and gave my wintel rig a hug)

LOL i never meet someone using linux i remember linux when i was on hight school now am 24 and i never saw it again LOL

To butcher a famous Robert Frost poem:

"Computer goods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have compromises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And files to throw before I weep."
