Hey I recently got a HD 6450 just to output a display to my monitor because my motherboard didnt come with the port that could directly display to my monitor, Now the issue is that I have a core i5 4670 so intel hd graphics 4600 which are miles better than the actual HD 6450 and I want to use my integerated gpu for things like games and the dedicated gpu for just showing the normal daily stuff I dont know if it is even possible, I have seen games run on basic pc hardware and not use the dedicated gpu before so I am assuming it is. The main task just to clarify is that I want to run CSGO on my intel HD 4600 integerated graphics instead of my dedicated hd 6450 even though I have the monitor plugged through the AMD card

just to tell u guys why am trying to do this

just to...
This is possible if you have windows 10.
Go to graphics settings browse your classic app location and choose the power saving option for iGPU and performance for the discreet.

its not letting me in my power saving option its still hd 6450 also I cant figure out how to post a image to forum otherwise i would show you the settings panel

Update I also tried going into settings and setting the integerated GPU as the default power saving GPU didnt work mostly cuz I cant find the option to change the gpu even under advanced power saving settings xDD

I understand what u are saying and i tried that but even in the graphics setting after selecting power saving option for the app its still hd 6450 .
Does it show both of your GPUs like in the pic?If it only shows one GPU then there is a problem with your drivers,it should show one as power saving and one as performance it doesn't matter wich one is shown as which as long as you can choose.

I don’t think the above will work on a desktop, only laptops but encase it can you need to ensure the IGPU is actives in the BIOS. Most motherboards will switch off the igpu when they detect a dedicated gpu.
It's a new feature of windows 10 it will not work on older windows.
The bios will automatically switch to the dGPU but it will not disable it,the iGPU does have to be connected to a monitor though to show up in windows.

Ok, not seen this feature on a desktop. My old Z87, 4670k & GTX780 automatically deactivated the iGPU, I had to enable it in the BIOS as I wanted it to drive another monitor. Worked well for my needs once made active.

It is showing the option to select between power saver and performance but in both options the gpu is hd 6450 not the igpu and all the drivers i have are up to date literally did em yesterday

yes I am on a pc and this might be the cause of the issue of it only showing the dgpu and not the igpu in the graphic settings, As u advised I also tried to check the bios and find any place where it would allow the igpu to run simultaneously or any setting which would inhabit the igpu from working and I found nothing of the sort ;-;

if the only way to use the igpu is to hook it up to a separate monitor then I am at a lost ,i dont have an extra monitor lying around and even if i did i couldnt adjust it into my setup

I am exteremly grateful that u guys are taking the time to actually help me out but I think the solution to my problem might go along the lines of masking my dgpu invisible to my games forcing it to us the igpu, This might require registry edits or whatever, I dont know the idea I got from a dude using a virtual machine and passing gpus and stuff through that but he was using linux and not windows, Now if there is a option or method in windows to achieve this i will do it even if it requires regedit or cmd, I am willing to do it as long as I can get my igpu to run games instead of the dgpu,The only proof of this actually working is a pubg mobile emulator which gives me the option to prioritize dgpu which i turned off making it run on my igpu, The thing is if the selection or allowance of gpu is limited to virtual machines like the emulator is running an android vm and thus providing me the option to select which gpu I would have it use, it might not be possible to let certain applications run on igpu and others on dgpy unless some really super geek af windows programmer type dude stumbles upon the thread and tells me how to mask the gpu or something.

You don't have to hook it up to a different monitor, although that would be the easiest to use,you can use the same monitor just a different input, from whatever your mobo outputs to whatever your monitor has unused.
You then just switch input on the monitor.

Don't forget, the original poster got the 6450 because he didn't have a way to connect to the monitor.

Did you specifically run benchmarks on your system to check which card works better? HD6450 is just about equal to the Intel card, really you should upgrade it if you are looking to play games on the system, even CSGO. A used 750Ti (if you can fit it in the case and power supply can run it) should be like $40, if that wont work look for a 730 GDDR 5, that should be even cheaper.

Oh, well that sucks!
Windows 8.1 would allow you to fake connect an iGPU but you can't do that anymore on windows 10.

I didn't even know Windows 8.1 did that!

This exact question probably is exceedingly rare. I can't remember ever running into this exact problem before, someone getting a worse GPU than integrated to remedy this problem.
