i have just bought a new pc second hand and it came with a hdd and 2 ssds, the ssds had windows 8 pre installed on them, i am getting an issue to do with the pc not being able to find the proper boot drive with the os on it.

i was wondering how i would go about turning the two ssds which are in raid 0 or at least were, back to two separate drives, for me to the install a new operating system on, they are partitioned and i dont know how to format them, any help is greatly appreciated.

ok thanks, do you know anything about the boot device not found error?

The device that is setup in the bios as the first boot device doesn't have an OS on it. That is why you are getting that error. You could get a CD or DVD that has the ability to format the drives too. Hirens is a good one and most Linux discs will allow you to format drives with them.

Hello... when your Bio's is started it will look for an OS or Command and files to start reading from "Boot DEVICE"... A "DEVICE" can be a hardrive, USB stick, CD/DVD... A Windows DISK has one... BUT... You must tell your BIO's where to start looking for it FIRST!!! There is settings to look first at your CD/DVD, the Windows Disk, in your BIO's, and you must save and exit the BIO's for the changes to be installed.
