Question How to get CPU information from it's surface.

Hi,

I would like to identify CPU type, speed, etc. I have found out that Intel CPU has something called FPO (batch number) and ATPO (serial number) . While ATPO is stored as 2D barcode matrix, FPO is printed as text on IHS and unlike ATPO it can't be scanned with barcode reader.

Is there a way how to derive CPU info just from the ATPO? I was looking for API from intel, yet I have found only page that allows me to check the warranty, unfortunately I have to type both FPO and ATPO numbers. Serial numbers usually stores useful information about the product and I wonder whether this is the case for Intel CPUs as well.

I don't think there is a way. You might be able to do this as an Intel retail partner, but I don't know for sure.
