[SOLVED] How to get full x16 bus on Z690 strix E gaming

Hello,i have read Asus manual for this mobo if M2.1 slot is busy with a ssd,a pcieX 16 G5 (top gpu slot will be running x8) and thats okay,i insert m2 ssd into M2.1 ssd slot and Gpu in the middle slot (not the bottom one) pcieX 16 G3 and now im reading only pciex x4 1.1 from gpuz and nvidia control panel,so where i need to move ssd from m.21 slot to have full gpu bus in the middle slot to a m2 2 or m2 3,i want gpu to stay in the middle slot for ssd doesent matter anyway is covered with a heatsink

X16 mode is available on PCIEX16(G5) slot only (with M.2_1 not ocupied).
Rest of PCIE x16 slots - PCIEX16(G4) and PCIEX16(G3) - support x4 mode.

Thx for speeedy reply,but how big impact will be in gaming x16 vs x4,i saw some youtube videos about it,the difference is so small

GPU works in PCIe x8 mode just fine. That might impact GPU streaming performance like video encoding, live streaming or some advanced game related tasks like texture streaming in high resolutions. However practically does not affect ordinary game playing when all required textures are already loaded in graphics card RAM.

Okay i will test one game in upper x16 and lower x4 slot,if there is small differents in fps i just leave it on the lower slot

It works well in x8 not x4. You will see significant decrease in performance

Depends on the video card as to how much of a impact it will have, the higher end the video card the more bandwith it can use.

Why not put the card in the top slot where it is designed to go.

First was there,but i dont like the aestet,i think i saw lower bus then x16 even the gpu was in a upper slot and ssd was in lower slot,i have to check again that combo just to be sure

Seems completely imaginary non-issue for me. Either put graphics card in PCIe x16 slot or get different motherboard where both two PCIe slots does support x16.
