Question How to get more storage on Chromebook?

My Chromebook barely has any storage and I want to increase it. But there are no extra storage slots only an m.2 wifi port with an already inserted wifi card. I want to use an adapter to plug in a msata storage card but then I won't have wifi access. So I was wondering if there is a way to get an adapter or something so I can have both a wifi slot and a msata slot?

Chromebooks tend not to be upgradable in that fashion, "You have what you have" as it were.

the only way to get more is to throw it away and get another one with more storage.

they are not really designed for local storage anyway, but rather want you to save everything in the cloud, use cloud services, and generally 100% rely on web services rather than anything local for your day to day.

you've got to go with something different to not be in that situation. a chromebook is designed that way. have a different need? get a different device.

Yeah that is the only normal option. but I know that there are m.2 wifi to msata adapter with limited speeds but that is fine for me. it is just that I want wifi access at the same time.

Sorry. No idea what adapter you are looking at but unless it somehow is a splitter to make 2 ports, then it's one or the other. Don't think such a thing is even possible even if you did find some cheap china junk that claims to do it.

Use external storage device (external SSD).
Or use SD card, if your chromebook has SD card slot.

i'm assuming if it simply had a USB port or an SD slot, he'd be using it already

otherwise, why would he bother with some kind of weird adapter for the mini m.2 wifi slot?

yeah I already used the sd card slot and plugging in a USB drive where ever I go would be very awkward.

An option would be those super tiny thumb drives. It would barely stick out so you would not even have to remove it unless you needed the port for something else. I have one in my car for music and it's so small it's almost hard to remove!
