How to get widescreen resolution

I have a Norwood Micro monitor(I know crappy) and it's shaped like a square.

I want it to be like normal widescreen resolutions where there are borders on the top and bottom.

Last night I had it set on that but when I booted it up today it was gone and there was a different resolution. I tried all of the different resolutions that were listed on my computer but none of them got it back to what it was.

Any suggestions?

I have Nvidia.

Look for a setting somewhere that will scale it. I am guessing that setting is ticked.

Where exactly would I find such a setting?

I figured out that making a custom resolution through the Nvidia Control Panel worked.
