How to install a motherboard

I've built a couple PCs and the best case I found was the Cooler-Master Praetorian. Why? Because the motherboard was mounted to a removable motherboard tray. I installed the mobo and all the related kit onto the tray and then slid the tray into place. No cramped space, no sharp edges. Wish more cases were like that.

Some of this sequence may depend on the type of components you are using. Nowadays with totally modular power supplies I personally prefer to attach the power cables, especially the 8 pin cpu cables, to the motherboard before placing it inside the case. With many cases attaching those power cables can be difficult once the motherboard is mounted and screwed into its standoffs. The same applies to sata cables and any other cables that are not attached to the case. And I would never consider not attaching both 8 pin cpu power cables, overclocking or not.

Its also probably not a good idea to demonstrate this process with a small ITX motherboard since those are only about 10 percent of the market.
