How to install Gimp Paint Studio in Linux?

I have GIMP 2.8 installed and running in Linux (Mint 16 Petra).

I've downloaded GPS, how do I install it/merge it with GIMP?

Thanks for that link, but after 10 minutes of searching I still can't find my Gimp 2.8 file/directory, hidden or otherwise, under users, programs, applications, or any other sub folder heading.

I believe GIMP came "bundled" with the version of Linux I am running, could this have anything to do with it being impossible to find?

GIMP defaults to /home/<username>/.gimp-2.8/

This is a hidden folder. (note the period in the directory name)

In GIMP preferences->folders you can see where the gimp user storage folders are located...
