How to install the NZXT Fan Grid (White LEDs)

I bought the NZXT fan grid so that I could plug in 3 more fans to my case. When I plug it in, the LEDs come on but the fans don't spin. I have tried both plugging it in to the PSU and Motherboard and then instructions are useless.

Can anyone provide a good, detailed description of how to install this?

looks fairly simple. there shouldnt be a connection to the motherboard. just molex connection to PSU and the rest are fan connectors.

I've connected the Fan Grid to the PSU via molex but the fans still don't turn. I've plugged the fan cables into the Grid, I don't know what could be wrong.
