That's actually not a bad idea. I think one problem would be that he seems to have a great many of them in his house, so he'd need like 10-15 geckos or something like that. Not to mention that the gecko waste would be more disgusting and in greater quantities than the roach stuff!

Aw dude, roaches will kick some gecko @ss in there. They have ninja skills.

Print this out and stick it up inside your case as a warning.

Geckos are badass...they hunt nonstop all night long and lay eggs to hatch as many more Geckos as the food supply will support.

Years ago I was a manager at a wholesaler and we had some Geckos that got lose...a few of them grew rather large feasting on the crickets in the warehouse.
They are heavy feeders and when they bite they do not let go.

We also had a tree rat problem for awhile and laid out glue traps.
One trap with a rat also had a 6" Gecko that had become stuck trying to eat the glued rat!

Anyhow the roaches that live in your computer are they same breed that live inside the TV ...you can also try Boric Acid mixed with bait. Works wonders for ants when mixed with a bit of water, sugar and fat as they take it back to the nest and the Queen dies.

WOW! Thats a first (not really). There was some on on the forums here a while back (when the C@Ds were just on the market). Some one found out that their PSU died/shut downed randomly was because they had a small scorpion (i think) that was stopping the PSU fan from rotating.

I dunno ... I thought this was funnier than the "Raid" card joke ... say La Vee

I found this instructional video on how to defeat a super cockroach..

Yeah bugs have been the nemesis of computers since they were invented. Most people probably know this but the term "bug" was started when a moth flew into a system and fried it.

This could be my favorite thread of all time.

I'm trying to get my parents to let me bomb the apartment. Anyhow, I gathered some things from this topic and I think I'm going to put a mothball inside the case, ordered this light: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16800888026 , and put Scotch Brite scouring pads over the vents to let it vent through the pads without having the bugs get a chance to enter. I will work more on fixing the apartment up, but how does this sound for the PC?

I dunno, its not so much the light as the brightness of it and it also depends on what kind of roaches. The roaches that where in that one house I told about where running around in the middle of the day, the light didn't seem to bother them at all.

A guy in my office was proudly showing off his brand-new PC to a bunch of people when a roach crawled out the front of the case. Everybody started laughing their arses off. After the embarrassment subsided, the guy went out and bought 4 quart cans of Roach-Pruf (mainly boric acid which causes a roaches guts to explode after they eat it). He emptied all 4 quarts all over the carpet and furniture, then had to evacuate to a temporary office after the building inspector visited him and locked the place down. And when he came back, the IT dept. had confiscated his new PC to test it for malfunctions. Whatta bozo!! :)

To: OP

You live in an apartment?

Your apartment landlord is responsible for the common areas of the apartment (landings, stairwells, storage areas. basements etc) and should be aggressively treating those areas. Treating the common areas will isolate the roaches to a single apartment and over time will reduce or eliminate the bugs in that apartment.

Even if your apartment is dirty and attractive for roaches, we can pretty safely asume that your entire apartment complex is infected.

Your local goverment agencies (Health Dept, Housing Dept etc) can help with this issue.

BTW, bombing the apartment will do little good as the noxious fumes will just cause the little guys to move to another apartment temporarily and then return to your friendly confines at a later date.
