remove heatsink and turn on 3dmark03, leave it 'til you smell melted silicon. Oh wait that voids warranty🙁

do the pencil volt mod, reduce resistance to like 0, so your GPU gets like 5V.

Ok so the manufacturer would be able to tell what happened if you did this, but still an amusing link:

They can tell if you flashed the bios too but you can always use the ingorant tatic.

Could take an live wire and put it in contact with the PCB. Could also unplug the 2-pin wire from the fan. Man this sucks helping you out on this since when I wanna fry my parts then I want use out of them too so they will fry with honor. Most OEMs will still stock the 9700 pcb right now.

they can tell, even though it is toast?! I will kame sure to downgrade to the original bios first, just in case

hehe, sorry man.. but yes; i have a ton of dead parts as well.. mostly decorative 😉 I will also make sure to check for retailer stock, but I am almost positive that the 9700 is gone from this country; thanks for your help

Thats sad to hear. 9700Pro is a nice card too. To bad there not being made anymmore.

"If youre paddling upstream in a canoe and a
wheel falls off, how many pancakes fit in a doghouse? None! Icecream doesn't have bones!!!"

the card is now dead... it actually ended up commiting suicide for no particular reason when swapping motherboards. Perhaps the 3.3ns card eventually died from that 2.8ns bios.. i can't even recall what exact bios was on there, apart from being a pro
