Question How to prevent raid 0 array from going offline

Just wanted to make a post because I wasn't able to find this on the internet.

Specs,

GhostS1
Ryzen 9700x
2 PCIE NVME WD 1 TB - in Raid 0 (yes im greedy)
4060ti
1 TB Sata Drive HDD
650EI? GIG ultra aurora motherboard

My raid fell offline however, the second nvme was shown as ready and not offline for the array.

I used boot media to reload my drivers for my motherboard. After that my Raid was back online, and all my data was there.

I tried looking into event viewer to find a clue on why my stuff fell out of the array, haven't had any luck yet.

Does anyone else have any suggestions on how to prevent or find out the cause?


ps, I also have a separate 2 tb SSD external that get a complete 1:1 replication of the raid 0 incase I need the data. (weekly image)

TLDR. reinstall motherboard raid drivers (x3) to see if raid will come back online before wiping everything

Get rid of raid 0 and install a single 2TB NVME drive instead.
Raid 0 for NVME is complete nonsense.

I work with audio/video projects, often over 200 gigs, isnt read and write faster than just two 1tb nvme or one 2tb nvme

No, not really.

Benchmark numbers, maybe.
In real world use, no. The RAID controller overhead sucks up any "benefit"

And for audio/video projects, the rest of the system has FAR more impact than the drives.

Write? Not really, no. RAID0 was for slower HDDs and rapidly loses it's benefits as burst I/O goes up. Drop the RAID0 and use a large high performance NVMe. The Samsung 990 pro is cheap now, get 2 or 4TB option.
