Question How to Read A PSU labeling?

So I currently have my prebuilt computer’s psu and I want to use it for a reference to help pick a better one than I have now but I don’t have enough knowledge of this to make a confident purchase.


I’m certain this is probably about as basic as basic gets a question but I really do need help

So that's a really high quality Delta unit and it has 385W (32A) on the +12V rail. So it's probably better than most 450W PSUs on the market.

Well it was with a gtx 1070, a i7 intel processor, some kind of Seagate hardrive

All the Dells I've owned had very substantial PSUs. I think Dell tends to under-rate them, probably for legal reasons. With those specs, I'd be tempted to even use a RX 570.

Well I don’t necessarily want to replace it so much as upgrade it since I’m going to change some parts anyway also I know technology tends to get better and better at a faster pace and eventually I’ll be looking into buying a new one so might as well know what to look for now

The only real complaint I had about it was that sometimes it was a bit loud but realistically I just wanna use this psu as a steppingstone to a better one but when I look online I have no clue if any of these are better or worse

A PC with a GTX 1070 should start with at least a good quality 500W. What was loud, the gfx card fans or the PSU's fan?

The Delta DPS-460DB-5 is a standard ATX power supply with standard ATX connectors. If you wanted to put a higher wattage PSU in there, pretty much anything is going to fit/work.
