How to read, open .bak extension file

Good day,

Had to make backup file for my phone contactcs, pics, call logs etc. etc. I ended up using software called mobileTrans, which created "Samsung GT-9505.bak" file.
Any way to open the file to get to the contact logs wthout using the software ( since to transfer data you actually have to buy it).

Any help will be appriciated.

You could just change the extrension Form .bat to .txt and when you are done just change the extension again

Use notepad++ to edit any sorts of code.

tried changing extention, if i go for txt it stops responding when i open it, notepad ++ says that file is too big, gonna try gVim but open to any other solutions

Try right clicking in the .bat file and try to edit it. There will pop up edit
