How to retrieve data after formatting drive and the contact no

with due respect i want to state that i formatted E drive instead of C drive and all the important files of 40 GB was
stored in E drive. Also the computer is not able to boot.
i therefore request you to kindly help in retrieving all the files of E drive. i will be highly obliged
if you help me in sorting out my problem as soon as possible.

Sounds to me, you did more than format your E: Drive, if your system now will not boot. Could try to restore to a previous date, or run sfc /scannow or boot from win CD and repair, to try to fix your boot problem. As far as drive E being formatted, you are probably out of luck, unless you can find some recovery software on the WEB.

PS: If you did a quick format, the FAT would be destroyed, but files still recoverable, provided nothing has overwritten them since.

How far can you get when you boot pc?
Do you see the Windows screen, or just the bios?
Wasn't your whole Windows installed on E ?
if so, and you erased everything and still want to recover some of your personal files, then reinstall windows on a different partition. That's crucial!
For the recovery I recommend Easus data recovery program (it has a partition recovery option too)
