I have a Galaxy J3. My phone fell on the ground and got completely smashed. The screen is unusable. Just regular black, nothing lit at all. It does work though as pushing the home button does make the typical sound effects and it rings when retrieving calls. The phone is alright, bu the screen is beyond disarray I want to retrieve the files on my phone being pictures, songs, etc.(contacts if possible?).

I can't open the files when I connect my phone to the computer. Whenever I did connect my phone to the computer, I had to phone drop the menu from the top and confirm which files my phone would access being media or files in general. This wasn't a problem before when I could confirm the phone was connected when its screen was fine, but now I cannot access anything at all.

Is there a way to obtain files from my phone without having to go the phone repair shop and paying a price? I just want to take my files out and thats it. Is there any program online that allows me to obtain it? I like to have a back up of my old phone files onto my new phone and onto my computer.

It is unlikely that there is a consumer-based program that will allow you to bypass all security on the phone and just hoover everything off the phone through a USB cable. If there is, I haven't seen it, and my brother who works on iPhones and Samsungs pretty-much daily doesn't know of one.

So, you're probably down to the choices of buying a program--if it can be sold to the run-of-the-mill consumer, taking it to the FBI and begging them to save you from the broken phone, or buying and installing a very inexpensive replacement display so you can easily get the files off the phone and, conveniently enough, be able to use the phone again.
