Question How to safely share a Drive in Network?

In my office LAN Network, there are 3 PCs and 2 Laptops. The D: drive in the first PC have all the data which is shared in the network. Now the permission is as such that anyone who connects to the network will have access to all the folders and files in the drive. Now I want to restrict that access to the remaining specified PCs and Laptops only. How to do that?

One way is to set a password for the share--then only those that have the password will have access.
