How To Save In No Man’s Sky

Like many things in No Man's Sky, saving your game isn't exactly explained to you on how to do it. So how do you go about making sure your game is saved before you exit out? Let's go over that here, so you can be sure you don't lose any of your progress.

Step 1)There is no manual save.

There is nothing in any of the menus that you can select to manually save your game. For whatever reason, it's just not an option and you will have to rely on the auto save feature in order to save. You can manipulate the game to save for you though in one of two ways.

Step 2)Activate a beacon.

The beacons you'll find on any planet, usually near other landmarks, are pretty common are plentiful. Any time you activate one of these beacons it will save you game for you.

Step 3)Get out of your ship.

Any time you take a step out of your ship it is going to save your game as well. That will happen if you are stepping out onto a planet, or onto a space station. This is probably one of the easier of the two options to allow you to save whenever you like, because you can just hop in your ship and back out again to save.

So remember, if you just made a huge discovery that you want to keep as your own, head back to your ship and get in AND back out again before you exit the game, or find your nearest beacon to activate.
