I need to stop windows messenger popping up every time I connect to the
internet using IE and/or OE in Win XP Pro.
Anyone know how I can do this? I want to be able to use it, but only when I
really need to, not all the time.
TIA.
Eos.

Greetings Eos,

Windows Messenger will not "come up" if you use Internet Explorer unless you go to a web page
that specifically calls it (like Hotmail).

To stop it in Outlook Express, simply download and run the following .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/stopmessenger_oe.reg

Thank you so much Jonathan! I knew I could rely on you to help out with this
one!
The reg-file worked wonderfully.
Cheers.
Eo.
