How To Survive The Gauntlet In Fallout 4

Once you have spoken to the injured man at the entrance to the theme park, he'll direct you to the metro station where you can take the train to go visit this world of Nuka Cola themed amusement. But as soon as you get there, you'll realize you've been duped and it was all a trap. You'll be thrown into the gauntlet, to see how far you can get just to amuse the raiders of this place. So how do you survive this death trap?

Step 1)Take your time and don't rush in.

Almost every area is full of traps or turrets, and though the announcer may be complaining that you are boring them to death instead of dying, you aren't really here to amuse them, since you plan on surviving. Pick off turrets from a distance, disarm traps as you go, and feel free to pick up any loot you find while you go. He can wait for you to reach the end.

Step 2)Don't trust the monkey.

At one point, you'll find a room with one of those toy monkey's holding cymbals. If you just walk up to it, he'll get set off, which will activate all of the turrets on the two shelves on either side of you, completely surrounding you with machine guns. Not a good place to be. Instead, pick off the turrets from the doorway before they get turned on.

Step 3)Turn off the gas

After fighting your way through more traps and mirelurks and even a maze, you'll get locked in a room with the gas on. There's a few valves, but they won't turn off the gas. You'll need to grab the passcode for the computer and the key to the computer room to access the computer nd shut off the gas to the room and open the doors. Keep in mind, there are rad roaches locked in here with you, and any time you shoot any weapon it will set of a small explosion from the gas igniting in the air.

Step 4)Sprint through the room with the caged roof.

This room has a lot of grenade bouquets, that if you take your time you can disarm as you go to get a decent supply of frag grenades. However, that grated ceiling also has very high level raiders shooting down at you. I was level 36 when I came through here, and they were all red skull leveled enemies. Better to sprint through this part so you aren't caught in grenades going off and guns firing at you from above.

Step 5)Defeat the Overboss.

At the end of the gauntlet is the Overboss, leader of the raiders here. This isn't an easy fight, but you have a secret weapon here. A water gun. No, seriously. That little squirt gun is going to win this otherwise impossible fight for you. Gage will direct you to use it and you should trust him in this. Before you enter the arena though, check out the hole in the wall, it'll lead you around to a fusion core that will drain some of the power from the Overboss's power armor. For the fight itself, you'll have to keep switching from your main weapon to the squirt gun and back. Whenever he is charged up with electricity, spray him down and it will short circuit his armor and allow you to deal some damage to him, while he is charged up your bullets will do nothing.

Keep an eye on your health, and heal as often as you need, and just keep him from having his armor charged and you'll bring him down, and when you do, they're going to give you his job!
