how to underclock gpu

i have a asus gtx 750 ti and while gaming the temperatures rise up to 54 c and thats while just standing

so now im trying to find out how to underclock to hopefully lower the temps but i do not know how to use the software asus gpu tweak II and i dont want to break my gpu

That card can hit 90C without issue.
54C is nothing to be worried about, you shouldnt take action until 80C.

okay but if it does get to 80 c i should check back here? i mean my gpu has never gotten this high before while gaming

You can if you want to.
IF it hits 80C (which it shouldnt) you can turn up fans speeds first before underclocking.

Any OC software (I recommend MSI afterburner) and you should be able to turn it down slightly.
Do know, if your card, for some reason, were to get "too hot" it would downclock on its own.

but i dont think msi after burner is compatible with the asus gpu and im just cautious with messing with the gpu fan because i dont want to brake them

MSI afterburner is universal.
As long as you dont set the fan speed to zero you should be fine.
