Question How to undervolt the CPU with a Gigabyte B760 DS3H motherboard ?

I have an i5-12400F CPU. Do you know if it's possible to undervolt it using the above motherboard, and if so what settings exactly, there so many and it's not clear?

It runs hot now, probably because of me using the stock cooler.

Could with Z motherboard through bios, B series are restricted. XTU might help, see youtube tutorials. Maximum processor state in Windows power plan set to 90% for example could also help you out.

Temporary workarounds. For the long term, a better cpu cooler and case ventilation, intake/exhaust or otherwise leave case open if it doesn't have intake fans. Never buy a case with a solid facial.

No, leave them. Z board you can adjust voltage. Windows level you use XTU or power plan.

Not sure, probably not. Was under the impression XTU can adjust voltage but i guess on a B chipset board it won't be able to change settings like that. Maximum processor state in Windows power plan is your best bet right now then.

Setting the Max to 99% disables Intel Turbo Boost. That will significantly reduce the performance of a 12400F.

There is nothing to suggest. The 12400F is a locked down CPU. Intel has locked out CPU voltage control. If @Gumla44 wants better temps, they will need to replace the stock Intel cooler.

Thanks all, it looks like there is no solution then, i just bought and installed a Thermal Assassin cooler 120mm fan, it's really quiet and cpu temp is not too bad, so seem to be doing the trick. But if I only knew B motherboards are so restrictive i would have taken a Z motherboard, too bad they keep this secretive.

I would say 12400F with good cooler and good case airflow cannot run hot and do not need "Z" chipset. What do you mean about "runs hot"? Do you have latest bios?
