How to Update BIOS on a P5B Delux

I am running Windows Vista on this machine. Ive called Asus and they are helpless.

Specs are:

Asus P5B Delux
Corsair PC6400-C4 memory 2GB
ATI x1950xt
Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2zs

go to start, all programs, asus, asusupdate

run the program

in the dropdown box select update bios from internet, click next 😀

I wish it was that easy. I dont have anything installed from asus. The utilities on their website are for XP (dos and gui both) and dont work for Vista. The only thing I have installed from Asus is the pc probe.
 
no idea then :S my only thought would be to revert to xp, lets hope som1 with more knowledge can shine some light on the subject :?
 
Put the new BIOS on a USB flash drive, go into BIOS. Under TOOLS, select EZ FLASH2 and point it to the BIOS ROM on the flash drive.

NOTE- the flash drive must be FAT32 for the BIOS to read from it.

Hope this helps. Be sure to backup your old BIOS before flashing.

worked as a charm. Thank you...Thank you.

I knew this way of doing this but the mistake i was making was that I was trying to make that flash drive boot able, instead of just putting the .rom file on it.
