About one week ago, my computer's hard drive crashed and so I replaced it. It was running Windows 8.1 but now since I reinstalled the OS on a new drive, I have Windows 8. I had the prompt to upgrade to 10 right before my old drive failed. I would like to install Windows 10 but I need 8.1 first. There are about 150 important updates pending. Is there any way I can install only a certain update so that I can have 8.1 and then upgrade to 10?

I checked this page but I do not see KB 2919355 or KB 2919442

  • To reserve your free upgrade, click on the Windows 10 icon located in the lower right side of the system tray
Don't see the Windows 10 icon? First, try running Windows Update and install any available required and recommended updates for your existing Windows 7 or Windows 8 PC. Still don’t see the icon
Once in the Get Windows 10 app, click “Reserve your free upgrade” in the app window.
Enter your email if you want confirmation of this reservation.
We’ll download Windows 10 to your device and notify you when it’s ready. You can cancel your reservation at any time. 1
