I agree with what the others have stated here...there were many better ones out there than the ones chosen.

Me: "Hey Gran, did you know that a Samsung SSD is like having a stack of Vinyl records with player arms playing each at the same time? Its like you don't haver to wait. You can get any track instantly."

Gran: " Idiot Child, that's a Hard Drive. Now ah heck off and let me get on with reading Toms Hardware."

The contest said to explain to your mother what an SSD was, and the winners were chosen at random. Very lame, as some of the winning descriptions mothers would still say "I don't get it?". I could've put anything in my entry. You should've had a bunch of moms go through the entries and pick the winners.
