Can you prove there all English entry's and not entries that got converted to English? I know that the grand prize winner (that wasn't on tom's) is french that was converted to English entry.

[citation][nom]Clonazepam[/nom]Bah, mine's way better than all of those... haha jk anyway, grats to the winners, go get yer chicken dinners![/citation]

Im trying but there not shipping it fast enough!

is it just me or are all these explinations extremely not creative. i guess i thought it would take a bit more than just listing off how fast it is to be a winner.

It says the SSD winners were chosen at random, so it's very possible that they're not all that great. Only the grand prize winner was chosen based on merit.

I thought mine was revolutionary for trying to compare a Samsung SSD to a Samsung refrigerator! My mother has one... oh well, maybe it was construed as sexist, which it was in a way lol...

My mom simply does not care. She won't even spend money to replace her old pentium 4 computer that takes 5 mins to boot and 2 min to launch any programs.

To tell her what an SSD does would go in 1 ear and out the other.

Me: SSD is basically just a faster hard drive.
mom: whats a hard drive?
Me: thing you store files on in the computer.
mon: oh. my computer still works. I don't need to bother it.
me: w/e mom...

[citation][nom]Novulux[/nom]The least tech savvy people would probably understand: Know how you have to wait a minute or two after turning a computer on to start doing stuff? Well, with these, it as well as starting other applications (things) takes mere seconds. Or are we assuming the person we are explaining it to also has some other handicaps?[/citation]

I hope they have some English comprehension otherwise they are still screwed. "Well, with these, it as well as starting other applications (things)" has to be one of the worst correct sentences I've read in a long time.

It's pretty irritating that all the contest winners are chosen at random when >80% of the explanations were atrocious. I'll be really disappointed if they use my explanation (which is the best I've seen) and I'm not one of the people getting an SSD.

Oh well...I guess it's not like I lost anything--I just didn't get something for nothing.

these entries are terribad, if I knew THIS was the competition I would have bothered to enter.
You sure these are the BEST 15 not the FIRST?

well, lets just say im one of those winners and i didn't enter the competition till weeks after i started. So there certainly not the first.

Although i never really expected to win...... I literally put my entry in for the fun of it like past completions...... (normally, I don't win anything)

And if your wondering, im the one that said about SSD are like USB flash drive.

Hmmmm....most of these entries are quite bad. I thought the winners were based on trying to actually make someone who wasn't tech savvy (mother in this case) understand how the technology worked. Instead they were randomly chosen. Lol.

those 15 entries above won SSD's ? jesus, my MOTHER could have picked out better (and funnier) entries. BESIDES the spelling/grammar mistakes, some of them make NO sense. GG on picking randomly and not putting some effort into it, Toms.

As expected I didnt win even though my explanation was better than half of them. Great job toms. Maybe they'll take my suggestion and steal it like they did my suggestion for new mobo ideas and not give me a damned thing. wouldnt that be great?!

Mom (or Dad), The Samsung SSD 830 is like the wide-mouth on a can of beer. In the old days you had to poke a hole in the side and suck the beer out to go fast, 2 holes = RAID Array. They're messy and sometimes cause beer (data) loss. Now you just open the top and chug. Easy, Fast, Efficient.

Random entry selection = methodology fail in this case. Why bother thinking of good explanation when you can type something like "Just buy it because it's Samsung" and have equal chances to win as everybody else.

This was pure brainless marketing promotion, nobody cared WHAT you've written. Shame on you Tom's and Samsung.

btw I didn't submit any entry as I'm not eligible, I'm commenting without any bias.

Samsung SSD 830 Series is something that is beautiful from the outside, but ugly from the inside. Compared with competitors, this thing is faster to read, but slower to write.
