How'd I do?

Well I'm up and running for one month straight and no problems....
Core i7 920
Biostar Tpower x58
6 gigs of G skill 1333
WD 250 gb Caviar
evga 9800 gtx+
NZXT Tempest

Ive run Crysis, GTA IV, and Assasins Creed all maxed out and my temps never went over 40 degrees.
All that on a stock cooler!
I havent built a system since the late 90's so how did I do?

It all cost 1400.00 from the egg. Havent run any benches yet, still kind of new to all this.

Well I don't see any incompatibilities or bottlenecks, so unless I missed anything, I think you've done pretty well.

Could you post the specific temps for your components?

you probably should've gone for a phenom II build and a better gpu, mobo and hdd but otherwise you did great.

There isn't anything wrong with the i7 920 build, as it does out perform. If he had the money, i would of went the same way, if i was more in the budget range of 1k and less, then i would have chosen p II.

It's hard to believe but I really don't need that much storage right now. In the future I may add another in a raid setup.

Nope, I'm kind of stuck on that whole Intel bandwagon. AMD hasn't put out enough to impress me. As for the 9800gtx+, I got it for the best price, free.
