I read thousands of threads and posts in many message boards about people having hellish issues with hardware/low FPS with this game. But so far so good. I'm running everything maxxed out at 1650x1050 with VSync-On and HBAO on as well. Sound set to Home Theater. My FPS never gets bellow 60, average 75-80.

My mid-range rig:

Mobo: Asus P5Q-SE
CPU: Q9650@3.6 Ghz
Cooler: Noctua NH9B
RAM: 2x2GB OCZ Reaper DDR2 PC-8500 1066Ghz
Vid: Sapphire 5870 1GB 900/1300
OS: Win 7 Ultimate 64bit
Main disk: Intel X25-M SSD 80gb
Storage: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
PSU: Antec Earthwatts 650w
Sound: Creative Soundblaster XtremeGamer X-fi 64MB
Case: Lian-Li PC-B25 Blue Ring

Now post your results, thanks in advance! :hello:

Mine was great until my monitor stopped working in 1920x1080. The game seems to be optimized really good for lower end PCs. I could run it from my old P4 3.0 ghz, 3 GB ddr2 ram, and a 9800 GTX+ 1GB easily.

As for now though, im stuck in 800x600 until i find out what is wrong with my monitor or video card, or both, or neither. lol.

I have no problems playing it, but haven't had time to really flesh it out with FPS and settings.

I also have to add, is a q9650@3.6ghz + a 5870 really considered a mid-range rig? Lol, I would at least put it at Upper-mid, if not lower-high~!

Well, it's not exactly an i7 extreme edition at 5Ghz + two or three 5970 crossfired. I consider my rig mid-range when it comes to hardcore or extreme gaming. It is certainly very high-end compared to the Mainstream PC market, though

4770, i5 750~4ghz ,dx10
medium settings, I stay above 44 up to the 70's.
1680x1050

edit: Actually went back to play and check settings. I'm running on HIGH SETTINGS, but I turned down AA, AF.
Also by turning off hboa? lighting shadows, my fps go way up avg 60.

Please help me if you can my fps drops below 60 fps with vsync on and I have really expensive and new hardware except my sound card is cheap.

Mobo Foxconn flaming blade GTI
CPU Intel quad core i7 920 bloomfield 2.66ghz
Video cards two ati xfx crossfirex HD 5870's
Power supply 850watt crosair four six pin connectors crossfirex ready
Ram three triple channel ddr3 1800hz kingston 1gig sticks 3 gigs total
Sound card Sound Blaster audigy se and reatek onboard.
Samsung monitor 1600-900 res
Creative fatality headset.
Windows 7 ultimate 64bit

I've tried everything I can think of to keep it 100% unmovable at 60fps
with vsync on but with vsync off I can get up to 200fps.

I have a feeling that something is not right and I cant find what is out of place.

Dopped average 30 FPS when i updated the graphics drivers to 10.6 on my 5970. 1080, everything maxed with no HBAO, had to put some of the settings down to mid to get the frames back up round 60 average again.

Not sure if this was due to 10.6 (a lot of people don't like them so most likely) or an update to BC2 that has caused some CPU overload with sound etc. Ill perhaps try taking the sound off wartapes and onto normal and see if that helps, if not im rolling back to 10.4 as it worked great on them.

Use Driver Sweeper, remove all ATI sotfware, reboot and update your Catalyst drivers. Get the 10.7 hotfix or 10.8b and see if solves your problem.

Crossfire 5870's with a 1600x900 res monitor?? Seriously?

And then having less than 60FPS?

.....

I run 59/60FPS with Vsync on @ 1920x1080 with all the settings maxed out with a single GTX 470. Anonymous post, and unbelievable problem. 😉

Ive been experiencing alot of poor fps lately and its irritating me to end. i updated to 10.7 catalyst and thats when all my troubles began.

Cpu: C2d e8600 3.33ghz @ 3.7ghz
ram: 8gb gskill ddr3 1333
gpu: 2 X 4870 512mb
Sound Blaster Audigy 4
mobo: asrock x48twinturdo-wifi

with the 10.6 i was able to play maxed out with 4x/16x at 1920x1200 at 50-70 fps as the average.

after 10.7 I am now getting 28-31fps average. not only on those settings but ALSO on any other graphics setting. another odd thing is every time i load into the map, the first 30-60 seconds of the game i get 3-11 fps (random?)

so i uninstall and use driver sweeper, revert to 10.6 and its still doing its 30fps average.

i use the asrock OCtuner that came with the motherboard to OC my system. without the OC i still get the average 30fps. so an OC has no effect on the fps.

that leads me to believe only one 4870 is working, yet CCC shows xfire enabled. here is my normal settings i use for BFBC2

[WindowSettings]
Width=1920
Height=1200

It creates graphical glitches, ive been getting stuck on EVERYTHING alot more, i can hardly run up a cornered stair case. i shot and knife people and run people over and they kill me with their backs to me.

anyone have any ideas of why this game is running so awful lately? its really unplayable right now. i just want to tear my hair out at points!

i got a

AMD 64 5000+ cpu
Nvidia GTX 460 SC
2gb of RAM
1400x1050 resolution.

when i start multiplayer i get 1-5 fps. then it loads up to 10-20fps.

i have no idea why its shitty with this game. i get more fps in crysis with all settings maxed then in this game.

also CODMW2 is 80+fps
Just Cause 2 40+fps
and every other game is fine but Bad Company 2. the game doesn't even look amazing enough to have that low of fps.

any clues? i plan getting a AMD phenom 2 x6 someday...hopefully soon. and i hope that resolves the problem.

your dual core at 2.6Ghz is not going to run that game with playable FPS, you are actually bottlenecking your GPU at that resolution. Try bumping up that CPU to at least 3.1/3.2Ghz, remember the lower the resolution the more stress on the CPU, the higher the resolution the more stress on the GPU. You need to find a balance 😉
