I read thousands of threads and posts in many message boards about people having hellish issues with hardware/low FPS with this game. But so far so good. I'm running everything maxxed out at 1650x1050 with VSync-On and HBAO on as well. Sound set to Home Theater. My FPS never gets bellow 60, average 75-80.

My mid-range rig:

Mobo: Asus P5Q-SE
CPU: Q9650@3.6 Ghz
Cooler: Noctua NH9B
RAM: 2x2GB OCZ Reaper DDR2 PC-8500 1066Ghz
Vid: Sapphire 5870 1GB 900/1300
OS: Win 7 Ultimate 64bit
Main disk: Intel X25-M SSD 80gb
Storage: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
PSU: Antec Earthwatts 650w
Sound: Creative Soundblaster XtremeGamer X-fi 64MB
Case: Lian-Li PC-B25 Blue Ring

Now post your results, thanks in advance! :hello:

I'm sorry but your statement makes no sense at all, you claim that a 60Hz panel cannot display more than 60FPS?? Really? Well here is a video of me playing Dirt2 on a Dell UltraSharp 2208WFP which is 60Hz native :

I guess you meant 60FPS while enabling v-sync and capping the FPS, if not then you are the one spreading false info.

Again the only difference between a 60Hz and a 120Hz is the fact that you get a 3D ready monitor and you can cap the FPS at 120. You claim that browsing the internet is crisper which is 100% false. The refresh rate has nothing to do with the detail/image that you see on screen, its the number of times in a second that display hardware draws the data.

Btw, the link you provided does not prove anything, its just letting you know what to expect from the Samsung 2233rz, in all a simple review.

Well he's 100% correct. Even with vsync off your Dell monitor is only refreshing at 60hz, which means it can't display more then 60 whole frames per second. That FPS counter you show in your video is only showing you that your video card is rendering more then 60 fps. I'm really surprised you don't know that. There was even an article on Toms about this stuff i'm pretty sure.

We are not talking about how many frames the monitor is refreshing at, that is obvious, we are talking about a 60Hz monitor being able to display more than 60FPS regardless if they are "whole" FPS or not. Refresh is how many times per second the screen is updated. Frame rate is how many unique pictures are formed each second.

It can't plain and simple. Your fps counter may say it is but it's not. 60hz means 60hz means 60hz...not 75. You can't smoosh 15 extra frames into a 60hz monitor.

Your computer can output more then your refresh rate but any extra frames are are either skipped or split, hence tearing. Still only 60fps coming outta your monitor. It just might be 60 of 100 instead.

Yea, I misunderstood Marsoc's post, I thought he meant that a 60Hz screen would not show how many FPS that GPU can actually render. In other words I meant to show him how many frames the GPU can push regardless if it was on a 60Hz or 120Hz. So I guess that was my bad for the confusing post.

you were right I was wrong, my bad. I didn't mean to confuse you or post any misleading info, it's just hard sometimes to get my point across, English is not my primary language even though I try to type as best I can.

I thought he was saying that the counter would be capped at 60FPS using a 60Hz screen and that is why I posted the video showing that it does indeed go over 60FPS. You both totally correct when it comes to the panel not being able to provide more than 60FPS, hence why I play with v-sync enabled since the input lag is minimal and i cannot deal with the tearing.

Can anyone give a guesstimate as to how many frames this game would run with these specs and what settings would be best?

Amd Athlon II x4 620 @ 3.2ghz OC stable
2gb ddr2
HIS HD 4870 512mb
1600x900 20 inch monitor
Corsair 650wTX

I get 80 FPS average with everything maxed out and 1920x1200 resolution.
(In the works map for the GPU.. which is the one with snow and snowy fog)

I have a core i7 950 3.06 ghz @ 4.02 ghz
and a couple of Palit gtx 460 1gb in SLI :)
