Hp compaq Upgrades

I have an old compaq HP Desktop and i am lookin to replace the cpu and i need to take off the cpu fan to do so and i have not worked much with older CPU fans and i am not sure how to remove it. Could someone help? I am also looking to upgrade it. Ill save those questions for later. Thanks!

It is the Compaq PJ505AA-ABA SR1210NX NA440

if that is a notebook like i think it is i would not bother replacing the cpu. you get minimal gain that way and the price of laptop cpus is outrageous just buy a more modern laptop. 250 at dell gets you quad core J series processor and 4gb ram with intel hd 4400 graphics

Its the desktop. And i just want to know how to take off the CPU fan please

That model number pulls up laptop. But most 775 coolers pull off by unscrewing the 4 corner screws and some have a side lever to release it after.

Yeah how do i use the side levers i cant figure out how to release them.

inside the 4 holes in the corners there are screws loosen them all the way and then lift the lever up to help release the fan
